The company “OILINVEST (NETHERLANDS) B.V.” belongs to Oilinvest Group, which, since its establishment in the 1980s, has been engaged in oil refining, the production and sale of petroleum products, fuels, oils and lubricants in general. Today, the Group has been developed from a small investment company into a major factor in the European oil and fuel industry, with its headquarters being in the Netherlands.
The “TAMOIL” brand, under which the company sells its goods and provides its services, has been developed rapidly through the Group’s expansion to Italy and other European countries. Today, the aforementioned brand has become widely known both in Greece and worldwide, through direct sales from the company’s retail outlets and through wholesale to large buyers, including oil companies, independent wholesale customers, large industrial consumers, including airlines and heating oil sellers. These goods and services have been widely acclaimed by the purchasing public in the countries where they are available, including Greece, due to their excellent and consistent quality and their origin from the world-renowned company.
The company “HELLENIC OIL INDUSTRY MONOPROSOPI S.A.” filed the national trademark application no. 285845 “TAMOIL & design”, against which the company “OILINVEST (NETHERLANDS) B.V.” filed an opposition based on its trademark “TAMOIL”. The Administrative Trademark Committee rejected the national trademark application through its decision no. 71/2026.
